I’ve always been fascinated by African people—their vibrant colors and their free spirits.
I love looking at them, and I love painting them. I admire the calmness they carry, and I’m inspired by their courage to live life on their own terms.
I grew up in the countryside, but strangely enough, I never really saw much wildlife or experienced what real nature was like. In fact, I used to be a little afraid of forests and places where there was no one around.
Maybe that’s why I’ve become more and more drawn to this raw, natural side of life.
In my paintings, you’ll often see their dark skin, along with all the spots, textures, and marks on it. To me, it carries a sense of nature that so many of us living in cities have lost.
I want to keep painting them, because I just can’t seem to let go of this deep fascination and love I have for them.
